The Extended Version

Ian Davis is a photographer from the Bay Area in California (Oakland to be specific). In 2001, a black & white film photography class at Berkeley High captured his interest in the art. Using a Pentax K1000 during those days, the time would eventually come when the film camera was put down in favor of digital point and shoot cameras. Missing the days of shooting with an SLR, he entered the world of Digital SLR shooting in 2008. A combination of being self taught and mentored by Errol Dillon has lead to an advanced experience and understanding of professional camera and lighting equipment. His shooting experience varies from portraiture, events, documentary and street photography.

Aside from being a camera lover, Ian has been producing music since 2000 and regularly works teaching youth how to use professional audio equipment and software at BAVC.

Ian’s work has been featured in the SFMOMA, SF Weekly, Diablo Magazine, Chinaka Hodge’s Thickwitness, JayYoungWorld.com and various album covers by independent recording artists across the Bay Area. So what are you waiting for? Check out his work!
